JOHN HINSHELWOOD
Over the last two decades, Glasgow based singer / songwriter John Hinshelwood’s finely crafted, country tinged songs have
helped establish his reputation as a performer and writer of distinction.
He has performed and recorded with, among others, former Byrds member Gene Parsons and Scottish folk legend Rab Noakes, and shared a stage with many distinguished artistes including Tim O’Brien, Roger McGuinn, Kate Campbell, Darrell Scott, Cathryn Craig and Martin Simpson.

His live appearances have included Celtic Connections, Highland Festival, Glasgow Americana, Wembley Country Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Perth SouthernFried Festival, Summertyne Americana Festival in Newcastle, in addition to Arts Centres, theatres and clubs throughout the Americana, Folk and Country circuit.His two CDs “holler til dawn”(2002)and “Shattered Pleasures” (2009), the latter a collaboration with Canadian singer Sandra Gellatly, both received widespread critical acclaim, and a new release is scheduled for early in 2014.The current line up of the John Hinshelwood Band is TimBlack (acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, vocals), Ed McGlone (bass, vocals), and John Hinshelwood (acoustic guitar, vocals)John has also organised and curated several Gram Parsons tribute events, and is the founder of six piece Country Rock outfit The City Sinners, which he fronts with American singer / songwriter Kathy Stewart.john.hinshelwood260@btinternet.com home -01555 860015 mobile -07949 960321
